Saturday 4th of July: BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB & JOHN GARCIA on ROCKWAVE FESTIVAL
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Wild One by Laszlo Benedek starring Marlon Brando is a movie that first came out in 1953. This incredible movie gave its name to one of the most important rock group of modern music, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
Starting on early 2000, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club made garage rock more attractive and addictive than ever. Their first album was named after them, simply B.R.M.C., introducing them to a wider audience. Then, Take them On, On Your Own to Howl followed, to make them even more popular and name them one of the best rock groups of our time. Their Noise Rock side came to surface and indie rockers found their new favourite band.
Dark aesthetic and wonderful lyrics mix with dirty rock ‘n’ roll making Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s sound one of the most loveable of the decade. On 2008, Leah Shapiro joined the group as their drummer and the release of The Effects of 333 instrumental album came one year later and became available only for digital download.
The following two albums of the band, confirmed the hype of B.R.M.C. with the audience welcoming their Garage “Messiahs” and critics declaring “Beat the Devil’s Tattoo” (2011) and “Specter At The Feast” (2013) some of the best albums of their year.
On Saturday, July 4th, they will be present on TerraVibe and Rockwave’s 20th anniversary.
“Singing Blues for the Red Sun”. John Garcia rightfully holds the position of the patriarch of stoner/ heavy/ desert rock, being the most recognizable voice of the genre. In 1987, at the music-blessed desert of California, John Garcia (voice), Josh Homme (guitar), Brant Bjork (drums) and Chris Cockrell (bass) formed Kyuss, one of the most influential bands of the ‘90s!
Following the releases of Wretch and Blues for the Red Sun, which were highly acclaimed by music fans and critics, Kyuss welcomed us at Sky Valley (Welcome to Sky Valley), giving hardcore fans a life-changing album! One more album (And the Circus Leaves Town) followed before the band left us only the legacy of their great name.
John Garcia’s multifaceted personality was not limited to a musical project as he gave his voice to Slo-Burn, Unida, Hermano, Kyuss Lives, Vista Chino, while last year he released his first official solo album. Concise and more mature than ever, Garcia added another excellent album under his belt, with his unique timbre triggering the sing-along songs.
On Satuday 4th of July Garcia will be at TerraVibe for Rockwave Festival’s 20th anniversary.
